Clyde L. Pilkington, Jr. & family

Pilkington & Sons is a family owned and operated business. The Pilkington family has been actively involved in the distribution of Bible study materials since 1980. What started out as PL&P Christian Distributors, and later became Grace Clearinghouse, and Pilkington & Sons, is now simply known as StudyShelf.com™. 

Father of the family, Clyde L. Pilkington, Jr., has been teaching the word of God for over thirty years. His life has been dedicated to the recovery and sharing of Biblical truths.

He has been the editor of The Biblical Standard (1976-1980), The Old Paths (1981-1985), Forgotten Truths (1986-1989), Grace Testimony (1986-1995), the now weekly periodical The Bible Student’s Notebook™ since 1989.

Mr. Pilkington has served in Christian ministry as assistant pastor (Victory Baptist Church, Hampton, VA, 1977-1980), pastor (Old Fashioned Gospel Tabernacle, Hampton, VA, 1981-1986; Grace Bible Church, Hampton, VA, 1986-1995), educator (Bible Believer’s Institute, Gospel Tabernacle Christian School, Grace Library, and the Bible Study Broadcast) and director (Grace Edification Ministries, Prospect, VA, and Gladstone, VA, 1995-1997).

Mr. Pilkington now resides in Windber, PA, enjoying the greatest roles of his life – husband, son, father, and grandfather.

Two of his sons, Clyde L. Pilkington, III, and Nathan H. Pilkington are vital to the day-to-day operations of the family business (they’re the “Sons” in Pilkington & Sons).

Over the years the Pilkington Family has grown in the Lord and have come to enjoy Him as not only our Savior, but our life. As a family we rejoice in:

● The proclamation of the riches of God's abundant, exceeding grace (Romans 5:20; 11:6; Ephesians 1:7);

● The affirmation of God's purpose to save all mankind through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (I Timothy 2:3,4; 4:10; Titus 2:11);

● The "preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began" (Romans 16:25); 

● The True freedom and liberty apart from the Law (Galatians 5:1);

● The Organic nature and value of the church, the body of Christ (I Corinthians 12);

● The distinct ministry of Paul, the apostle to the gentiles (Romans 11:13);

● The importance of receiving all whom Christ has received (Romans 14-15).

● The recovery of rich Biblical truth that has too long remained hidden under the veils of traditionalism, prejudice, misunderstanding, and fear (Mark 7:7,13).

● The completeness of the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:10), with...

- total forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14)

- identity in His death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6)

- adult sonship position (Galatains 4)

It is our desire to be used of our Lord to help other members of Christ's Body come to see these and many other wonderful truths that are found in His rich Word. One way that we seek to accomplish this is through the distribution of literature.
